Hannah Furst’s top 5 ways to look after your body and mind

Writer and podcaster Hannah Furst is currently travelling through Thailand and sharing some of her favourite recipes online.

She made the transition from management consultant to creative four years ago in search of a more fulfilling and rewarding life and it’s paying off.

Hannah continues to seek out experiences that benefit her body and boost her brain health, as well as give her a sense of rest and relaxation.

“I love to travel because time slows down on holiday, and you’re able to quieten your mind and enjoy being in the moment,” she says.

“I’ve been learning Muay Thai — a type of martial art — while on holidays in Thailand. Each session is 1.5 hours, but it goes so quickly, and it’s so much fun.”

Hannah’s top 5 ways to extend the body and mind:

  1. Hiking with friends
  2. Dancing around the house
  3. Morning walk or jog with an audiobook or podcast
  4. Puzzles (which she says, “they help me be more mindful and relaxed before bed and keep me away from my phone for hours at a time”)
  5. Bike riding in a new place when travelling

You don’t have to make such seismic shifts to your life to improve your brain health. Tiny tweaks to your everyday Eat Rest Play routine can make a massive difference to your overall wellbeing.
