Hannah Furst on the best time to introduce small swaps into your daily routine

Travel and beauty writer and podcaster Hannah Furst understands that like any muscle, the brain needs to be stimulated to stay strong and that any time or age is the right time to adopt a brain-healthy lifestyle.

Her love of travel and new experiences naturally present opportunities to eat well, play often and rest regularly — all key ingredients to overall wellbeing.

Hannah admits her sleep hasn’t always been great, but she’s working on it.

“I’ve always struggled with my sleep, so I try to implement good sleep hygiene like only getting into bed when I’m ready for sleep, not drinking coffee after lunch and having a hot shower before bed,” she says.

Good food nourishes not only your body but your brain. Hannah has tried to implement healthy eating habits, often starting the day well with a delicious and nutritious acai bowl.

“I love to make an açai bowl with frozen açai and banana, almond milk and vegan protein powder, topped with banana and granola,” she says.
